The tables are set for the Men's Beach Volleyball Finals. Brazil's Alison Cerutti and Emanuel Rego will face Germany's Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann as both teams will attempt to capture the gold medal.
Cerutti and Rego are the top ranked duo in Men's Beach Volleyball. The Germans Brink and Reckermann are third.
The Brazilians put away Latvia's Martins Plavins and Janis Smedinis in the semifinals. They won in two straight sets 21-15, 22-20. This has been a patter for the Brazilian duo, they put away their opponents quick.
They have only lost two sets in the entire 2012 Olympic run. They dropped a set against Austria's Doppler and Horst in the first round of the tournament. Then Cerutti and Rego once again dropped one in the quarterfinals against Prudel and Fijalek in the quarterfinals.
If only losing 2-16 sets sounds great, then what Reckermann and Brink have done is a slightly bit better. The Germans have only dropped one of the 16 sets that they have played. That one set they dropped came against China's Penggen Wu and Linyin Xu in the second game of preliminaries.
In their semifinals match, the Germans got past the Netherland's Reinder Nummerdor and Rich Schuil 21-14, 21-16 in a match that only took 40 minutes.
The action begins at 4 p.m. ET/9 p.m. GMT.
