NFL Preseason Results: Washington Redskins Get TD Pass From Robert Griffin III, Defeat Bills

Washington Redskins fans got what they wanted to see since draft day, Robert Griffin III taking the field as Redskin and throwing a touchdown while doing so. The Redskins walked out victorious from Orchard Park as they defeated the Bills 7-6 in the first preseason game for both teams.

RGIII played a few snaps in the first quarter and did not waste time in wowing fans and observers. He went 4/6 with 70 yards and a TD.

So far, in the first game, Washington ownership is looking brilliant after getting their new quarterback a target like Pierre Garcon over the offseason. They hooked up for a 20-yard touchdown giving the Redskins the only score of the day.

Griffin did have a fumble early in the fourth quarter, but the touchdown worked well for the young quarterback.

Rex Grossman and rookie Kirk Cousins also took some snaps at quarterback. Grossman finished 2/10 with 22 yards. Cousins went 9/22 with 74 yards and an internception.

For the wide receivers, newly acquired Josh Morgan finished with four receptions and 49 yards, his longest was a 25 yard pass.

The Buffalo Bill scored their six points on field goals by Rian Lindell. The first one was 43 yards and the last one was 45 yards.

The next game for the Redskins will be on August 18th against the Chicago Bears in Soldier Field. The Buffalo Bills will face the Minnesota Vikings on August 2.
