Closing Ceremony 2012: Time and Schedule of Last Day of Olympics at London

The USA Basketball finished their game against Spain to capture gold, putting and to the major sporting events taking place at the 2012 London Olympics. Now everybody will wait for the Closing Ceremony to take center stage and we are just a few hours away.

NBC will broadcast the Closing Ceremony from London at 7 p.m. ET. For those on the West Coast, they will have to wait for 7 p.m. in Pacific Time

However, for those who want to catch the Closing Ceremonies live, there will be a live stream available online. The network changed its mind about not having a live stream up after many people complained. Americans had to wait hours before they got to witness the event, while the people in London were already asleep, awaiting the beginning of the games.

The Ceremonies will go live at 4 p.m. ET/9 p.m. GMT. Ultimately, people on the West Coast without internet or satelite will have to wait for their local schedule to show the event.

The program seems to be as follows, there will be the march of the Olympics. Instead of being divided by nations, the way they marched in the first day of the inauguration, all the athletes will walk in together. This signifies unity and world peace.

Also scheduled in the event will be the passing of the Olympic flag to Rio de Janeiro's mayor, Eduardo Paes, who will have his city hosting the 2016 Olympic Games.

Performers will hit the stage, of course, and entertain the crowd in "A Symphony of British Music," which will be the theme of the night in the Closing Ceremonies.

A number of artists like Queen, The Who, Spice Girls, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Fat Boy Slim and George Michael, just to name a few.

The last scheduled part of the program will be extinguishing the torch. After the ceremony, however, there should be plenty of fireworks as the athletes will be going off to parties and celebrations as they will continue to enjoy the last day of their 2012 London Olympic journey.
