The Buffalo Bills could look at a trade for Kirk Cousins or Sam Bradford this offseason as options over EJ Manuel, while names like Mark Sanchez and Brian Hoyer are potential free agent targets at quarterback for Rex Ryan to start in 2015 and this comes as CJ Spiller is a free agent and may not return.
The Bills are expected to target Darrelle Revis in free agency and the team likely will make a move at quarterback, as Kyle Orton retired after last season. Manuel was drafted a couple years ago and has not yet developed into a consistent starter and now Rex Ryan will have to decide what way is best to proceed. According to Bleacher Report, there are numerous teams interested in trading for Sam Bradford and Jason Cole mentioned that the Buffalo Bills could be one of them.
Bradford is a name that could end up on the trade market or free agent market, as the Rams could look at moving him or cutting him after dealing with another ACL surgery. According to ESPN.com, Ryan was asked about free agent quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Brian Hoyer at his first press conference and he said like other players on the market, those names will be evaluated by the team. Manuel threw for 838 yards and five TDs last season and he likely needs more time to develop.
Many have speculated that Ryan could look at bringing in Sanchez, as the two were successful early on with the Jets. Sanchez had a solid season as the backup for Nick Foles and ended up playing in eight games after Foles was injured. Sanchez had some solid performances and he could parlay that into a starting job if he leaves Philly. The Browns are another target for him and they also could be in the mix for a trade for Foles or Bradford.
Foles comes in after throwing for 13 touchdowns and 10 picks last season and he could be moved by Chip Kelly. According to NJ.com, the Eagles are considering trading Foles and teams like the St. Louis Rams, Texans and Titans are reportedly interested. If the Rams pulled off a move for Foles, it could mean Bradford will get traded or released. The Bills could look at Bradford as an option, as he is a possible cut for the Rams as he enters the final year of his deal.
Foles is in the final season of his rookie contract, while Kirk Cousins also could be a potential target. Cousins reportedly wants out of Washington and the chance to start and he could be a solid option for the Bills, as they don't have as many draft picks to use after trading up for Sammy Watkins last year. Cousins was a target for the Browns last year and a fourth round pick was mentioned and that could be a move for the Bills to consider. Hoyer is a free agent option and while he is getting targeted by the Browns to come back, teams like the Bills, Houston Texans and Titans will be interested in the free agent quarterback. The Bills finished 9-7 and had a winning record for the first time in a number of years.
