Liverpool and Crystal Palace are playing live for the FA Cup Fifth Round and the match from Selhurst Park at 12:30 pm ET and it will be on Fox Sports Plus and the Fox Soccer 2Go website as Brendan Rodgers leads the Reds along with Raheem Sterling and Mario Balotelli into the tournament matchup.
The FA Cup Fifth Round picks up with Liverpool playing away and they come in after winning against Bolton and that was an away match as well. The game comes after Liverpool pulled a 3-2 victory against Tottenham and that came after a draw with Everton away. Coming up on the schedule after Crystal Palace is Southampton, Man City and Burnley and the team also has huge matchups with Manchester United and Arsenal on the calendar.
Liverpool will be without captain Steven Gerrard for this game and he will be down for a few weeks while dealing with a hamstring issue. Sterling could be out while dealing with a foot injury and he could be rested for the Premier League schedule coming up. Last season Crystal was able to hold Liverpool to a draw in the match at Selhurst Park and that was a tough result for the team at the time. The Reds finished second last year in the EPL standings behind Man City after some tough matches down the end of the season.
Liverpool is in seventh place on the English Premier League table and they have the chance to push into the top four with a strong second half. The team has played well since the calendar has turned to 2015 and this could help keep them in good form moving forward. The two teams will play on the EPL schedule later in the season and now the Reds will try and make it through to the next stage. Sterling was out for the home win against Tottenham while dealing with an injury and he could be ready to come back after sitting in that game.
Liverpool has the edge with the way that Palace has been in the FA Cup and these two teams have met four times in this competition. Daniel Sturridge has scored nine goals in the last 11 FA Cup games that he has started and over the last three matches the teams have scored the same amount of goals.
