With Melky getting caught doping, Giants fans can kiss the postseason goodbye.

It is a shame hearing the news of one of the season's best stories as Melky Cabrera was suspended after failing a testosterone test. 

Many were marveled at the 11 homer, 60 RBI season the outfielder was having for the San Francisco Giants. Cabrera went so far to even out-performing everybody in the All-Star Game in his former ballpark, Kauffman Stadium, as the Kansas City Royals hosted the mid-summer classic. Melky took home MVP honors after going 2-3 with 2 runs, a homer and 2 RBI. 

Now the Giants are placed in a tough predicament. They are in the heat of the NL West as they are currently tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 64-53 record. 

Hours before the news about Melky doping was released, Ken Rosenthal, writer for FOX Sports, tweeted that the Giants led the NL in runs per game after the All-Star Game, which was shocking to everybody because this team could not put runs together last season. They have averaged around 5.13 runs a game. Now we know why.

There are 45 games left in the Giants' regular season. The only way Melky comes back will be in the sixth game of the playoffs, but let's be honest, without Melky, the Giants will not go anywhere. his .346 average and production in general will be impossible for a lineup like the Giants make up.

Yeah, they have Hunter Pence, Buster Posey and Pablo Sandoval, but these players will really have to kick it up a notch and pick up Melky's slack. 

Melky's doping scandal is more than bad for his reputation. It just completely killed the hopes of the Giants' postseason dreams. 

The Dodgers, who loaded up on talent were probably going to take the West regardless.
