Phoenix Suns Trades: Goran Dragic Traded To Miami Heat, Isaiah Thomas To Boston Celtics, Tyler Ennis To Milwaukee Bucks

The Phoenix Suns made a flurry of moves at the trade deadline on Thursday, trading Goran Dragic to the Miami Heat while also dealing Isaiah Thomas to the Boston Celtics and Tyler Ennis to the Milwaukee Bucks along with Miles Plumlee and in return the team received various draft picks and Brandon Knight.

According to ESPN.com, the Heat gave up first round draft picks to get Dragic, who said this past week that he did not want to sign back with the Suns. Dragic became the top target at the deadline and teams like the Kings, Pacers and Lakers were interested. The 28 year old is looking to run a team and he was dealing with a three guard system in Phoenix that he did not like. As part of another deal, Norris Cole was traded to the Pelicans from the Heat.

Marc Stein reports that the Bucks made a number of moves, acquiring Michael Carter-Williams, Miles Plumlee and Tyler Ennis. The Suns dealt Ennis and Plumlee and they also received Knight in that deal. The Suns felt that they had no choice but to trade Dragic after he said he would not sign with the team in the offseason. The trade deadline was very busy on Thursday and now the Suns have a brand new offensive roster with Eric Bledsoe leading the way.

The Phoenix Suns went from guard-heavy to light very quickly on Thursday, as the team traded away Goran Dragic, Zoran Dragic, Tyler Ennis and Isaiah Thomas in deals at the deadline. The team also decided to trade Miles Plumlee as they try and build a team into next year. Dragic had made it clear that he wanted to be traded, as he "did not trust" the team anymore and said that he would not re-sign. Making things kind of ironic is the fact that signing Thomas added to the displeasure for Dragic, which made him not want to sign and now the team has both players off the roster.

"To be a point guard, to run the team and have the ball in my hands and try to make plays for others," Dragic said. "That's who I am."
