There are six more NFL preseason games hit the schedule Friday night and we'll learn more about several notable quarterback competitions.
Tennessee Titans vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Jake Locker will be getting his first career start after looking impressive for the Titans' in their first preseason game last week.
Locker, who some say is leading the Titans' quarterback competition, has a chance to separate from Hasselbeck with a solid performance with the first team.
Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens:
This game will be a preview of what is expected to be a good year for both Matthew Stafford and Joe Flacco.
Stafford, the No. 1 overall pick in 2009 for Detroit, showed what he could do last year when healthy, surpassing 5,000 yards.
Flacco, on the other hand, is entering a contract year and wants to be able to legitimately command big-time quarterback money.
Miami Dolphins Vs. Carolina Panthers:
The Miami Dolphins will start rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill in Friday night's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. Tannehill got the nod over Matt Moore, who started last week's preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
For Carolina, Cam Newton is expected to take a leap in 2012, which is saying something considering the season he had in 2011.
Newton may not have had Pthe win-loss record to prove it, but he will be the best quarterback on the field Friday night, as the Dolphins come to town with their unsettled quarterback competition.
New Orleans Saints vs. Jacksonville Jaguars:
New Orleans has a top-three offense and a top-three quarterback, which is pretty much the opposite of the Jaguars.
Jacksonville was last in yards in 2011 and fourth to last in points.
These two teams met in the regular season last year with the Saints winning, 23-10, so it's expected they do the same Friday night.
Oakland Raiders vs. Arizona Cardinals:
Oakland continues to break in Carson Palmer while hoping Darren McFadden can stay healthy because, when he is, he's one of the best in the league.
The Cardinals continue to have quarterback competition between John Skelton and Kevin Kolb, Skelton the reported favorite.
