EPL Transfer News: Spurs Complete Adebayor Signing as Villas-Boas Lines up Shock Move for Willian; Dawson Bid Accepted

Tottenham Hotspur finally completed the permanent signing of Emmanuel Adebayor, with Andre Villas-Boas now reportedly lining up a shock swoop for former Chelsea target Willian.

The English Premier League club have also reportedly accepted a bid of around £9 million ($14.2 million) for Michael Dawson, who has fallen down the pecking order since the new manager's takeover.

Adebayor finally came to an agreement with Manchester City over a final settlement, allowing Spurs to announce the transfer for a reported fee of £5 million ($7.9 million).

"I'm back!!!! Tottenham here I come!! I'm hungry for goals...Get ready," the 28-year-old tweeted.

"I am pleased to be signing for Spurs on a permanent basis after finally agreeing my departure with Manchester City," he added on the club's official website. "It may have taken longer than expected but I am delighted to be back at Tottenham Hotspur.

"I really enjoyed my time here last season and I am hoping we can achieve great things together again."

The 28-year-old former Arsenal striker enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at White Hart Lane last year, becoming a fans' favorite, despite having played for their bitter rivals.

The signing will come as a huge boost to Spurs, with Villas-Boas struggling for strikers, having just one established striker -- Jermain Defoe -- in the line up during their first Premier League match last Saturday.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs are looking to bid for highly-rated Brazilian winger Willian. With Luka Modric about to complete his protracted transfer to Real Madrid, the Portuguese will have sufficient funds to make a few signings, and has reportedly lined up the 24-year-old attacker. Willian was a subject of interest for Chelsea, with Shakhtar Donetsk turning down a big-money bid from the Blues earlier this summer.

Meanwhile, Spurs have reportedly accepted a bid from Queens Park Rangers for Dawson, with the central defender expected to complete a move in the next couple of days.

Dawson was not involved in the opening match, with Villas-Boas preferring William Gallas and Younes Kaboul. New signing Jan Vertonghen and Steven Caulker are also ahead of Dawson, leaving the former Nottingham Forest player with little option but to look for a new club.

Mark Hughes is desperate to sign a new defender after QPR were thrashed 5-0 by Swansea City on the opening weekend.
