Chelsea got a little bit lucky with the winner en route to scoring a 4-2 victory against Reading, but Roberto Di Matteo calmly skirted his way past the question, instead focusing on the positives in the game, with Eden Hazard again impressing.
Goals from Frank Lampard, Gary Cahill, Fernando Torres and Branislav Ivanovic gave Chelsea their second-straight victory, but there was much room for controversy, with Torres looking easily offside when he tapped home a low cross from Ashley Cole, to give his side a 3-2 lead.
"I haven't seen it yet," Di Matteo told reporters. "I looked straight away at the linesman and he didn't look in any doubt, so I cannot comment."
New signing Hazard, who notched two assists in the Blues' last game against Wigan, was again the star, with the 21-year-old constantly posing a threat. "There was some good football, a lot of rotation between our players, and we attacked in numbers, created several chances as well, and the players were enjoying themselves," the Chelsea manager said.
"He (Hazard) certainly had an impact on our team, and with Juan Mata as well he linked up very well. He is finding his feet very quickly, so that is very pleasing for us."
Di Matteo said he was happy to pick up six points from the first two games and was particularly happy with his side's performance against Reading. "I think we are very pleased with six points after two games," the Italian added. "I was very happy with the team's performance for long periods of the game.
"We lost our flow after Reading scored their equaliser and second goal, but apart from that, very good, and we finished very strongly again.
"Keeping in mind that we've played a game more than other teams, for us it's good we've won our two opening games. Wigan away and this game against a promoted team was a tough game, as you could see tonight, and credit to Reading.
"The way we started the game was very enjoyable. Our crowd went a bit quiet when Reading equalised but again at the end they pushed us on and showed how good they are.
"I don't know if we will stay at the top but we are taking it game by game and will enjoy tonight's victory. Then tomorrow morning we will think about the next game."
Reading manager Brian McDermott was understandably disappointed with the result, with the newly-promoted side doing more than enough to at least deserve a point. "We didn't deserve to lose," McDermott told reporters. "We're disappointed with the result and I'm gutted for the players because I didn't just think we were going to draw, I thought we were going to win. It's a shame.
"The linesman will be disappointed with the third goal, from where I was I knew he was offside and when you see it back it was clear. He said he'd look back on it but it's gone now. He's had a poor night and because of that we've had a disappointing result. That's life."
