After the Los Angeles Lakers acquired All-Star center Dwight Howard, head coach Mike Brown says no one was more ecstatic than he was.
Pro Basketball Talk reported Brown's reaction after he received the news. With Howard now dominating the paint, Brown really liked the trade adding more talent to his roster:
"I got a little excited. I tried to jump up and down, but my mind was telling me to do something that my body wouldn't allow me to do. I almost pulled my hamstring sitting down. I don't know if that's ever happened to anybody, but I was so excited that my leg tensed up. I almost tore my hamstring. So I got up slowly and gave him and Jim Buss a hug," Brown said.
"That might be the first hug they've gotten from their coach, ever, when it comes to a trade happening."
Brown may have celebrated after he found out the Lakers acquired Howard, but now it is time to figure how to get this team to compete at the highest level and become a new powerhouse team in the Western Conference.
With all this talent, the Lakers are now under immense pressure to win a championship. Unfortunately for Brown most of the pressure will rest on his shoulders as head coach. If he can't win a title with this team he will be heavily criticized, similar to the criticism Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra had to endure with the formation of the "Big Three" of LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh.
