Thursday's second game of the NFL 2012 Preseason will be between the Baltimore Ravens and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The action kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Ravens are 1-1 this season. They faced the Atlanta Falcons and had an offensive explosion in the second half. Quarterback Jay Flacco took a rest and Curtis Painter went on a tear. He only threw for 78 yards but he had three touchdown passes giving the Ravens their first lead in the first third quarter. They took that game 31-17.
They were not as fortunate at home versus the Detroit Lions. They lost by 15 points in a 27-12 game that Detroit dominated. Megatron and Matt Stafford burned the birds. Calvin Johnson finished with 111 yards and touchdown. Stafford went 12/17 with 184 yards and two touchdowns.
The Jags are 2-0 so far, but their record is not what is attracting all the attention. Maurice Jones-Drew, the 2011 leading rusher in the NFL, has yet to take the field with his team. He is pleading for a pay raise.
He is the third highest paid back in a division that features Pro-Bowlers Chris Johnson and Arian Foster.
The Jaguars had a big game in the first preseason match against the New York Giants. They came back to win that game 32-31. In their second game, they escaped from the Superdome with a 27-24 victory.
Blaine Gabbert, first round pick, went for 112 yards with two touchdowns. Justin Blackmon caught four passes for 48 yards and a touchdown.
