U.S. Open 2012 Live Stream: Watch Roger Federer Face Donald Young In The Opening Round At 7 PM ET

The final major of the tennis season starts with the world No.1 Roger Federer beginning his campaign against American Donald Young in the opening round of the 2012 U.S. Open.

Federer will be looking forward to cap a nearly-perfect year with another Grand Slam win.  Federer beat Briton Andy Murray to win the 2012 Wimbledon title, regained his world number one ranking and comes into the final grand slam of the year in ominous form.

"I'm just happy how I'm playing," said Federer. "I already reached my goal for the year becoming world number one and getting Wimbledon again and getting a medal for Switzerland.

"It's been incredible."

Federer is gunning for his sixth U.S. Open crown and this time he's looking more resilient and determined.

Top seed Federer is considered to clinch victory in the opening round and advances into the 2012 US Open second round, being played on outdoor hard courts at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

Federer's opponent Young has been struggling as of late.

The American has a poor 3-21 win-loss record for the season so far and that says everything about his dwindling form and confidence. Still chasing his maiden title on tour, Young will meet Federer for the first time and he will have to come up with something special or extraordinary to earn the biggest victory of his career.
