The Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies are playing live on the NBA schedule on Wednesday and the game from the FedEx Forum starts up at 8 pm ET and has LeBron James matching up with Marc Gasol and one of the best teams out west as the Cavs try and stay locked in for the playoffs and this could be a potential NBA finals matchup depending on how things go.
The Cavaliers come into the game after winning against the Milwaukee Bucks on the road and they will continue this trip with the Grizzlies in Memphis. The team next plays against the Brooklyn Nets on the road and they come in at first place in the central division and they have 46 wins on the season. The Cavs have taken shape as one of the best teams in the east after a slow start and they are looking like title contenders out of the east.
James comes in after scoring 28 points against the Bucks and adding 10 rebounds, while Kyrie Irving had seven assists in the game. The Cavaliers are ranked seventh in the league in scoring this season and they are 12th in points allowed per game and they are looking like the top team in the east alongside the Atlanta Hawks. The Cavaliers were off to a slow start this season and dealt with some struggles while LeBron James was out, but he has come back healthy and the team has played great.
Memphis comes into the game after a win against the New York Knicks on the road and they will next play against the Golden State Warriors. The team got 23 points and five assists from Zach Randolph, while Marc Gasol led the way with eight rebounds. The Grizzlies are second in the west and first in the southwest division this season and they are a sleeper team to make it to the finals. Gasol is heading towards free agency and he is hoping to make another deep run with the team.
Memphis is ranked second in the league in points allowed per game this season and they have the chance to get a big win over a strong team at home with the Cavs coming in. The Cavs have played well against the western conference this season and it is tough playing on the road in Memphis and that makes this a good test for both sides with the playoffs weeks away. James comes in leading the team in scoring and the Cavs come in having lost just six games since back on January 27, winning 27 of 33 overall.
James is averaging nearly 30 points in his last 13 games against west teams and that means the Grizzlies will have to find a way to shut him down. The team comes in after winning at home against Memphis back in December and now they will try and get the road win and they have lost just one of the last 14 against the western conference.
