Moussa Dembele completed his switch to Tottenham Hotspur from Fulham after completing a medical, while Stoke City are leading the chase for Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam.

Fulham had, earlier, accepted a bid, believed to be in the region of £15 million ($23.7 million), from Spurs for the talented playmaker's services, and both clubs confirmed the move was completed. The terms of the contract was not disclosed by Spurs.

Dembele, who made his move to the English Premier League from AZ Alkmaar in 2010, said he was looking forward to enjoying a successful spell with Spurs. "I'm happy to join Spurs, it's a fantastic club," Dembele told the club's official website.

"You can see over the last few years that Spurs have played well, everybody knows it's a good team and a good club and that's why I wanted to come here.

"The club has plans to do lots of good things and that's why I want to be a part of it."

The 25-year-old Belgian international added he was happy to link up with compatriot and fellow new signing Jan Vertonghen. "I know Jan from when I was 10 years old, we played together then," he said. "I know him well, he's a great guy and he's said a lot of good things about this club.

"He says there are friendly people here and for me, that's very important, to feel great somewhere. I'm sure I will here."

Earlier, Dembele had tweeted: "Happy to confirm I signed a new contract with Tottenham FC!

"I would like to thank all the Fulham fans for their support! You were amazing."

Meanwhile, Stoke have put in an official bid for Adam, believed to be in the region of £4 million ($6.3 million). Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly ready to offload the former Blackpool midfielder, with Adam failing to make an impact ever since making his move to Anfield last year.

Merseyside rivals Everton and Fulham are also thought to be interested in the 26-year-old's services, as Rodgers looks to let go of some of the signings made by Kenny Dalglish, during his time at the club.
