US Open Results: Andy Murray Cruises into Third Round with Win over Ivan Dodig

Andy Murray was posed with tougher obstacles in the post-match interview, rather than his second round match, which saw questions fielded on Prince Harry and his 'extra-curricular activities'.

Murray barely got out of second gear, on his way to a 6-2, 6-1, 6-3 win over Ivan Dodig in the second round of the U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows.

After the match, during the on-court interview, Murray joked about the extra attention he is receiving in New York. "It has been a little bit different," he said. "I've had a few people with cameras waiting outside my hotel, asking very strange questions.

"Did I see the pictures of Prince Harry? I said, 'No comment.' And then they asked what I thought of the crown jewels. I didn't comment on that, either.

"It's a little different than what I'm used to, but it's fun."

In the match, Murray ensured he reached the third round of the U.S. Open for the seventh consecutive time, cracking 30 winners, which included 10 aces. "I thought I played well," Murray said. "There were a lot of long rallies. I moved my feet pretty well.

"They were definitely easier conditions to play in, compared with the other day when it was windy. I served better.

"I've got a couple of days to work on some things and I've got to get used to playing in the day, so I'll get out there in the heat."

In other men's matches, home hope John Isner kept up his reputation of liking long encounters, taking three hours to beat the experienced Belgian Xavier Malisse 6-3, 7-5 (5), 5-7, 7-6 (9).

Another American, Brian Baker cruised into the next round with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, win over Jan Hajek.
