It is almost appropriate for Andy Roddick to go out tonight as all the lights will be shining on him at the U.S. Open when he takes the court in the evening session. Yesterday afternoon, the 30-year-old veteran announced his retirement from the sport following the conclusion of the tournament.
Roddick, who won the U.S. Open in 2003 and was the last American to capture the title, will face the No. 43 ranked, Bernard Tomic from Australia. Roddick comes into the match ranked 22nd in the world by ATP and 20th in the tournament.
With the possibility of his career ending tonight, we give you the schedule of the matches taking place in the main courts at the U.S. Open in the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Queens, New York.
Other tennis stars in action today, Novak Djokovic, Samantha Stosur, Victoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova, David Ferrer and Juan Martin del Potro.
