PGA Tour Schedule 2015: Tiger Woods To Play The Masters At Augusta, Major Tournament Starts Thursday

Tiger Woods will be playing at the Masters in 2015 at Augusta National after a long layoff, as the golfer confirmed this week that he will participate in the major tournament and it will be his first competition since back in February and that is good news for the PGA Tour and the television ratings.

Woods has not played since early February when he withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open with a back injury and the golfer confirmed he will play in the major. According to ESPN.com, Woods said "I'm playing the Masters" and added that it was "very important" for him to participate in the tournament. Woods has won the tournament four times, but not in many years and he is looking to bounce back after being out for a couple months.

Woods is ranked at number 104 in the world and he comes in after playing a practice round at Augusta National last week. Woods has not competed in over 60 days and he has only played 47 holes on tour this year and Woods is hoping that his injuries do not keep him out for the rest of the year. Woods is back at the Masters after missing out last year and he is looking to bounce back after previously putting up the worst score of his career in Phoenix this season.

Woods has won 14 majors in his career and his last Masters championship was back in 2005 and overall his last major was the US Open in 2008.
