The Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues are plaguing live on the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs schedule on Thursday for Game 1 of the series and the matchup from the Scottrade Center and starts at 9:30 pm ET on the NBC Sports Network and streaming online from the NBCSN Live Extra website as Vladimir Tarasenko leads STL in the matchup.
The Blues come in after having a very successful regular season and they ended up with the best record in the central and they were tied with the Ducks in points. The team now will face the Wild, who had 100 points this season and finished just behind the Blackhawks in the standings. Tarasenko helped the Blues be one of the best teams in the west and now they are looking to make a run to the Cup, something their fans have waited for a very long time for.
Jake Allen will start over Brian Elliott for the game and the Blues are hoping he can keep things going, as he is coming in hot. The Blues have not always been the best playoff team and now they have a team that many think can make a deep run in the Wild. Some around hockey see the Wild as dangerous and the Blues will have to find a way to stop them from attacking.
The Wild have been as good as anyone during the stretch run while going 28-9-3 and that has come with Devan Dubnyk coming in. The team will be tough to beat after putting up triple digit points this season and they actually were the first overall team in the west in a stretch from mid-January to the end of the season. Game 1 is on Thursday and Saturday will pick up Game 2.
