The Women's Singles U.S. Open Final is ready to set off with Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka looking to capture their second Grand Slam title of the season. The action is set to begin after 4:30 p.m. ET.
It will be a match between, probably, the best female players in tournament right now.
Serena Williams is undoubtedbly one of the greatest tennis players in history. She is making her fifth appearance at a U.S. Open final. She lost last year as Samantha Stosur shocked Serena and the world Williams last won the U.S. Open in 2008.
Azarenka captured this year's Australian Open and made it to the semis at Wimbledon.
This is the best performance she has given at the U.S. Open. In the past, Azarenka had not made it past the fourth round and she has been competing for six years now.
Azarenka's task will be to slow down a Serena Williams that has completely demolished her competitors. Overall since a disappointing 1st round exit from the 2012 French Open, Williams has been on a roll and seems more ready to win than ever. She won Wimbledon and then breezed through the 2012 London Olympics.
Williams has yet to drop a serve in the tournament. She even left Andrea Hlavackova scoreless as Williams won both sets 6-0, 6-0.
