The Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors are set for Game 2 and Game 3 this week and they are playing live on the NBA playoffs schedule on Tuesday and the matchup from the Air Canada Centre starts at 8 pm ET from NBATV and has John Wall and Kyle Lowry going at it as the series has the Wiz leading the first round set.
The Raptors come in as the higher seeded team and they have home court and they are looking to even the series at 1-1 heading into the next matchup. The Wizards played well despite slumping at the end of the season and the first matchup went into overtime. The Wiz outscored the Raptors 11-4 in overtime and they now have the chance to take both games in Canada.
The Wizards got 20 points from Paul Pierce and 13 rebounds from Nene, while John Wall added eight assists. The Raptors had Amir Johnson lead the way with 18 points, while DeMar DeRozan had 11 rebounds and six assists in the matchup. Pierce added four rebounds and a steal, while Johnson had eight rebounds and an assist for the Raptors.
Pierce has playoff experience and while he is an older player, he knows what it takes for a team to win a title. Pierce has the Wizards in good position no matter what happens in this game and he was able to add half of his teams points in overtime to help win the game. Last season the Raptors lost to Pierce and the Nets, so he knows what it takes to win here and Toronto knows how it feels after they lost in seven. The Wizards were terrible on the road at the end of the season and won just four of their final 19 away, but they also have won six of the last seven games away in the postseason in a two year stretch.
The Wizards saw Lowry foul out of the game and that was tough for the Raptors to come back from and now Lou Williams comes in for Toronto after winning the Sixth Man of the year. Williams had 10 points in the game, while John Wall dropped in 10 for the Wizards. Bradley Beal had a strong game with 16 points and those two players will be key for Game 2.
In other action, the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers are set to play Game 2 and Game 3 of the NBA playoffs first round series this week and coverage is live on the schedule from TNT. The game is streaming online past 7 pm ET as LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love host the Celts and they are leading the series coming into the matchup.
