Spain won its first match at the Qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil as the defeated Georgia 1-0 on Tuesday.

Spain went into Tbilisi and walked away with win in the final minutes of a match that had overtime written all over it.

The difference in this match, which was predominated by defense, was Soldado who scored the go-ahead and game winning goal of the match in minute 86.

The score came just in time as this match looked to be headed to extended time.

Win the win, Spain is comfortably in first place with France, who is currently facing Belarus in another Group I match up.

If France somehow drops their match, Spain could have sole possession of first place in the Group I pool.

With the loss, Georgia is currently sitting in third place as they have a win and a loss. They have totalled three points and have scored and allowed just one goal in their two matches.

Spain remains the only team in Group I to only have played one match.

Spain will next face Belarus in their match up that will go down in October 12th. Georgia will then battle against Belarus, four days after, on October 16.
