Chicago Bulls Rumors: Bill Russell Says Joakim Noah is Not Used Properly

The Chicago Bulls have some of the freshest talent in the NBA. Joakim Noah is one of the more popular players out in the Windy and even made a name for himself before hitting the NBA stage. According to NBA legend, Bill Russell, the Bulls do not use Noah properly.

"A player who doesn't get much attention and is one of my favorites to watch is Joakim Noah. The Bulls don't utilize some of his skills. Not only is he a good rebounder but he's an excellent passer."

As his stats would show, Noah's passing abilities are not reflected by his numbers.

Last season he averaged a career high 2.5 assists a game, which is high for a center, but Russell believes this ability has to be used more often.

"A good passer is more important to a team than a good shooter on offense," said Russell, who owns an NBA record 11 NBA championship rings.

Noah averaged just over two assists per game with the Florida Gators and has continued the trend in the NBA.

He was third last year in the NBA amongst centers in assists. Noah was only behind Marc Gasol and Kevin Garnett in passing.

Bill Russell was answering questions during a Q&A as he is in the middle of recovering from open heart surgery. During that time, before making the point about Noah, Russell praised stars like Kevin Durant, LeBron James and a man the Bulls will need in order to have success, Derrick Rose, who will be out for a good chunk of the season.

As the Bulls' rotation changed over the break, Noah will have to take a lot of the work load and maybe the Bulls should get some counseling from Russell on how to use Noah more efficiently on offense.
