Chris Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald: Worries Fantasy Owners Should Have

Chris Johnson, one of the premier running backs in the league and Larry Fitzgerald maybe the best wide receivers in the league are both clearly struggling in the first two weeks. Should fantasy owners be concerned? Maybe about Johnson, but not about Fitzgerald.

Johnson, so far in the season has 19 carries with 21 yards on the ground. Fitzgerald has five receptions for 67 yards.

Definitely subpar numbers for both teams as both players highlight the offense on both of their teams.

The fact is that at the end of the season, Fitzgerald without a doubt will have 1,000 yards receiving. Johnson's 1,000 yards on the ground is not guaranteed.

Last season Fitzgerald was the premier receiver for the Cardinals. He went for over 1,400 yards, good for fourth in the league in 2011, and eight touchdowns. The year before also had 1,000 plus receiving yards with six touchdowns.

The Cardinals have done a poor job of supplying Fitzgerald with a decent quarterback and other receivers that can take some heat away from Fitzgerald, yet, the receiver always finds a way to have great stats.

Johnson, however, has had his offensive production diminished every season following his 2,000-plus rushing yards fiasco back in 2009. He only had four touchdowns in 2011 and 1,047 yards rushing.

This could cause concern for the Johnson camp. His quarterback is down and the offense might depend on him to create offense, but he has not being able to make a difference at all.

Fitzgerald will be alright, but it might take him some time to get it going as he will continue to attract a lot of defenders. The Patriots played him well, but then again, the Patriots are the Patriots. He only had 1 catch for four yards on Sunday.

Chris Johnson fantasy owners should probably try to trade Johnson. Find somebody desperate enough to trade for another back. He might have a few bright spots during the season, but maybe fantasy owners should consider getting C.J. Spiller of the Buffalo Bills, if he is on waivers, as the back is off to a hot start this season. In two games he has 292 yards rushing with three touchdowns.
