San Francisco 49ers Rumors: Carlos Hyde Starter Over Reggie Bush, Mike Davis For Colin Kaepernick? Bruce Ellington Helps Torrey Smith

The San Francisco 49ers are coming into the 2015 season with Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush battling to start in training camp and the team also has Mike Davis coming in as a rookie and he also could make an impact for Colin Kaepernick and this comes as Bruce Ellington could get a boost behind Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin after the departure of Michel Crabtree.

The team let Frank Gore of in the offseason along with Michael Crabtree and after bringing in Reggie Bush on a free agent deal, the team will have a new starter. According to CSN Bay Area, Bush and Hyde will battle to be the starter, but Hyde has the edge after playing well last season behind Gore in limited carries. Hyde has missed time for OTAs and that could put a dent in his starting chase, as he has an "undisclosed leg injury" for the time behind.

Bush and Mike Davis could take advantage along with Kendall Hunter, but it's likely Hyde's job to lose. The team added Torrey Smith in the offseason and allowed Michael Crabtree to go and now Bruce Ellington will get a shot to contribute behind Boldin. Last season Ellington had just six catches in 13 games, but he will get the chance to step up now as the third or fourth receiver.

The offense on the San Francisco 49ers for Jim Tomsula as head coach will look very different for Colin Kaepernick compared to last season. Players like Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree and Brandon Lloyd are gone and now the team has Bush, Smith and the rookies coming in. The team has Tomsula coming in after he was promoted from within the organization to take over for Jim Harbaugh as head coach by general manager Trent Baalke and owner Jed York.

According to ESPN.com, Baalke said that the team wanted to retain as much continuity as possible and they felt that promoting Tomsula was a strong option after parting ways with Harbaugh. The Niners were very successful under Harbaugh, winning 44 games and three division titles in four seasons, but the front office and head coach often clashed.

The team is going to have a number of new coaches and they also have Michael Crabtree and Frank Gore out along with Mike Iupati among other players. Gore is now with the Colts and he is gone now after being as consistent as anyone in the NFL during his career, but at his age it was time for the team to move on. The team likes Carlos Hyde and he got a nice amount of touches this season behind Gore and now could step up in year two. Gore is coming off of another 1000 yard season, but he is getting to the age when running backs usually start to break down.
