Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner revealed her new name and appearance, debuting on the cover of Vanity Fair as Caitlyn Jenner for the first public showing as a woman and more details will be revealed in a cover story by Buzz Bissinger and this comes as Jenner is set to be presented with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at ESPYs on July 15.

The cover of the magazine was shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz and the accompanying article is by Bissinger, who wrote the book "Friday Night Lights." Jenner previously won an Olympic gold medal in the decathlon and was called the "best athlete in the world" for a time before finding a second wind of fame in reality TV.

Jenner revealed the details of her transition in an interview in April with Diane Sawyer and this is her public debut. The story has numerous pictures of Jenner and also a video that has Jenner saying that she is "free" to be who she is now moving forward. "Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie. Every day, he always had a secret," Ms. Jenner said in a video posted to YouTube by Vanity Fair.

Jenner said that in the past during the 1980s, she had started to transition using hormones and that she also liked to wear "pantyhose and a bra underneath her suit," according to the New York Times. The report from the Times saiys that Bissinger has described himself as "a cross-dresser with a big-time fetish for women's leather" and that he spent months working on the story.

The main report says that Bissinger spent countless hours with Jenner's three previous wives, including Kardashian patriarch Kris Jenner and he also spent time with Jenner's mother. Jenner also will star in a reality series detailing Jenner's "life as a transgender woman." According to the Washington Post, Jenner will be presented with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs on July 15. The ESPY Awards are presented by ESPN and award sports figures for the past year's accomplishments.

Jenner has an official Twitter account and she wrote to introduce herself: "I'm so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me."
