The NBA Playoffs standings for the 2015 finals has the Cleveland Cavaliers tied 1-1 with the Golden State Warriors in the series after the win in Game 2 on Sunday and now LeBron James and company will try and go up 2-1 in Game 3 on Tuesday from Quicken Loans Arena in Ohio, while Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry will try and push the Warriors to take back the lead.
The Cavaliers won Game 2 after a tough loss in overtime in Game 1 and that matchup saw Kyrie Irving get injured for the rest of the series. James stepped up without Irving and had an amazing game, putting up 39 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists, matching James Worthy as players who have put up a stat line like that in the finals. Irving fractured his kneecap in the last game and James missed a final buzzer shot that would have won it for the Cavs.
The team was outscored in overtime 10-2 in that game and on Sunday the teams played in overtime again. The Warriors were able to stay close all game and the Cavs were able to hold Stephen Curry mostly in check and they outscored the team in overtime by two to win the game 95-93. The Cavs now have the chance to steal home court and the Warriors come in after getting 34 points from Klay Thompson and 10 rebounds from Draymond Green.
James helped will his team to victory and now many in the media are swallowing their words after the Cavs took Game 2 when many felt that they had no chance without Irving. The Cavs have dealt with a ton of injuries all season and with Kevin Love already out for the playoffs already, James has had to put the team on his back and has experience being the alpha for his team.
James had 44 points in the Game 1 loss and he also added six assists and Tristan Thompson had 125 rebounds, but the team could not pull the upset. The loss for the Warriors in Game 2 was only the fourth for the team at home all season and the second through the NBA playoffs. The Game 3 matchup is a crucial point in the series, as 84 percent of finals tied 1-1 has the winner of the game go on to win. If LeBron is able to pull this off without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, this will be one of the great championship runs of all time.
