Newcastle United head to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in the third round of the Football League Cup on Wednesday.
Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to rest many key players and give some of Manchester United's youngsters a chance to impress against Newcastle.
With their defense being hampered by injuries, United's talented prospects such as Alexander Buttner, Sam, Johnstone, Will Keane, Nick Powell and Jesse Lingard may see a starting spot this game.
Alexander Buttner and Nick Powell, scorers against Wigan in the recent Premier League meeting, are likely to start, while Darren Fletcher could be handed his first start in 10 months as he continues his recovery from a chronic bowel condition. The Scottish midfielder came off the bench against Galatasaray in the Champions League.
Last time these teams met back in January, Newcastle defeated the Red Devils 3-0 on the strength of goals by Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye, and an own goal from Phil Jones.
