The Cleveland Browns will clash with their host the Baltimore Ravens in at 8:20 p.m. ET in Thursday Night Football action.
The Ravens have the difficult task of a short recovery from an emotional 31-30 Sunday night win over the Patriots, but Ray Lewis and company have beaten Cleveland eight straight times. The Browns are looking for anything positive after an 0-3 start, and Baltimore is a tough place to get one.
The Browns defense has played decently at times this season, but there must be improvement on the 1,175 yards allowed in three games.
Quarterback Joe Flacco is off to a great start, leading the AFC with 913 passing yards. His favorite target has been tight end Dennis Pitta, who already has 18 receptions on the season. Second-year wideout Torrey Smith leads Baltimore in receiving yards with 235.
Brandon Weeden and running back Trent Richardson will try to lead a Browns offense that currently ranks 26th in the league in yardage.
Weeden's thrown six interceptions to three touchdowns, showing inconsistency despite a solid Week 2 game against Cincinnati (322 yards, two TDs).
This game will also feature the return of the NFL's regular officiating crew who ended their lockout this week.
After two days of marathon negotiations -- and mounting frustration throughout the league -- the NFL and the officials' union announced that a tentative eight-year agreement had been reached to end a lockout that began in June.
The deal came on the heels of Seattle's chaotic last-second win over Green Bay on Monday night in which the replacement officials struggled.
"We are glad to be getting back on the field for this week's games," NFL Referees Association president Scott Green said.
The players' union is happy to have them.
"Our workplace is safer with the return of our professional referees," the NFLPA said in a statement Thursday. "We welcome our fellow union members back on our field."
