After winning his first championship LeBron James has finally earned the nickname "King James" by many of his doubters, proving that he can get the job done. Since James entered the league he has been viewed as "the chosen one" and was to be the next basketball Superstar to lead a new era.
With such high anticipations set upon him, James has always, and probably will always, be in that conversation with the likes of Michael Jordan about who is the better baller.
Former Dream Team teammate, Charles Barkley believes James has the ability to surpass Jordan when his career is said and done.
As part of NBA TV's Open Court series, which returns Tuesday at 11 p.m., Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal and Reggie Miller talked everything LeBron, and thoughts of the upcoming season.
"I do think he can be better than Michael," Barkley said. "I thought I would never compare somebody to Michael Jordan. But this guy, LeBron James, he does everything well. Michael did everything well. LeBron James is just bigger, stronger, faster. That's the only difference."
Barkley has point.
James won his first NBA title and third NBA MVP award last season, joining Jordan as the only players to win a NBA title, regular-season MVP, NBA Finals MVP and Olympic gold all in the same year.
And he's only turning 28-years-old towards the end of the year, and that's scary.
It's so scary that Hall of Famer guard Reggie Miller feels that world has yet to see James' best basketball.
"It's interesting what winning does, getting that championship and getting that monkey off his back. What's scary is what lies ahead for him. He's already won three MVPs. He's considered by all of us to be the best player on the planet right now. I think his best basketball is yet to come because of that one championship."
