NBA Free Agent Rumors: Kevin Seraphin, JaVale McGee, Carlos Boozer Targets For Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans?

The NBA free agent market is slimming out and players like Kevin Seraphin, Carlos Boozer, Tyler Hansbrough, Jeff Withey, JaVale McGee, Chris Copeland and Samuel Dalembert are available and teams like the Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans, Clippers and Sacramento Kings could be interested.

The past few days saw a number of deals go down, including Amar'e Stoudemire signing with the Heat, Andrea Bargnani joining the Sacramento Kings and Marcus Thornton agreeing with the Houston Rockets. Boozer is one of the notable players left on the market and Chris Broussard at ESPN reports that the LA Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans and Mavericks have shown some interest. Kevin Seraphin has also had interest on the market and he could sign soon after playing with the Wizards last season.

According to Marc Spears at Yahoo Sports, Seraphin has had interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, LA Clippers and Washington Wizards as a free agent. Seraphin reportedly wanted to find a starting job after being in a backup role in Washington, but this late in free agency it is looking unlikely. The Mavericks could be an option after the team lost DeAndre Jordan even with the Zaza Pachulia trade, while the Lakers also could be a fit. JaVale McGee has been a target for the Clippers and he reportedly is talking a deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

UPDATE: RealGM: "The Dallas Mavericks have opened discussions with JaVale McGee, league sources tell RealGM."

The Lakers have been active this offseason and they have brought in Roy Hibbert and Brandon Bass to the front court. Seraphin would likely be a reserve option with Robert Sacre there and Julius Randle coming back from an injury, while the Clippers also could look at the center slash forward. Seraphin played around 15 minutes per game last season and averaged six points and three rebounds. Pro Basketball Talk reports that Washington would "love" to bring back Seraphin to back up Marcin Gortat.

Seraphin played behind Gortat and Nene and he was solid at times when he was able to get extended minutes. Seraphin did not start a game for the Wizards during the season, but he played in a career high 79 games in the regular season and that could help him catch on with a team this summer. Gortat signed a five year deal last summer so it's unlikely that the Wizards would give Seraphin the chance to start, even if he looked good in camp.

Seraphin is mostly an interior presence and that is where his offense comes from, as he shot over 50 percent last season from the floor. Boozer comes in after averaging 11 points and seven rebounds per game last season for the Lakers in 71 games and he has reportedly had interest from the Clippers, Mavericks and Raptors. The Mavs brought in Wesley Matthews and missed on Jordan and now they could look at filling out the bench with some free agents.
