On Tuesday it was reported that Kobe Bryant reiterated a desire to retire once his current contract is up in two years. Bryant originally made these comments at the end of last season, but has yet to say anything since.

Wednesday, Bryant took to his Facebook page to talk to the fans and address the rumors that they might have only two years to watch him on the court.

"As far as retirement, I'm not sure how many years I have left but know this: IF and When I announce my retirement, I will do so directly to you first. Let's focus on getting this season taken care of. It should be a fun one. I feel strong, light and quick. I can't wait till Oct 31. It's on."

Playing alongside with Nash and Howard may benefit Bryant in terms of him not having to shoulder the scoring load over the next two years and as a result not taking that much of a toll on his aging body.

Although as of now Bryant appears very adamant about retiring after two seasons, anything is possible from now until the 2013-14 season.

If the Lakers manage to prove their dominance on paper to being the actual thing and win a championship, Bryant may be compelled to stay with the Lakers for additional years long as possible championship runs are still in reach.
