Arsenal Transfer News: Could Llorente Be on the Way to Arsenal? Cazorla Loving Responsibility at New club

Arsene Wenger has asked his scouts to be on the lookout for a new striker to bring in during the January transfer window, while Santi Cazorla said he is enjoying life at Arsenal.

Wenger is still looking at potential replacements for Robin Van Persie, and someone that can decrease the burden on Olivier Giroud, who is yet to find his best form for his new club, despite scoring a nice goal against West Ham at the weekend.

Arsenal have made a sound start to the season so far, with the goals coming from different sources. The likes of Lukas Podolski and Gervinho have contributed well in front of goal, but Wenger still feels the need to bring in another proven striker, according to The Telegraph.

While the manager has deployed Gervinho in a central striking role successfully, and Theo Walcott is pining for a central forward position, the need for another recognized forward to mount a sustained challenge for the English Premier League title cannot be ignored.

The Gunners are reportedly monitoring Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente, Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic, Atletico Madrid's Adrian Lopez and Robert Lewandowski of Borussia Dortmund.

The Arsenal board have repeatedly said, the money is there if Wenger feels the need to buy, so despite some of the mentioned players carrying a hefty price tag, Wenger won't hesitate to dive in, if he feels the player will improve the squad and take them over the line.

Llorente looks like the most likely signing, with the striker recently falling out with manager Marcelo Bielsa. The Spanish international also has less than a year remaining on his contract, making the transfer fee easily manageable for the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Cazorla, who was named Arsenal's player of the month for the second straight time, said he is enjoying the extra responsibility he has been given at the Emirates. "It could be that in the few months I have been there people have been talking a lot more about me," Cazorla told reporters during a pre-match press conference ahead of Spain's World Cup qualifier against Belarus.

"I feel important at Arsenal and I want to keep developing. The way Arsenal play and the responsibility they have given me is something I have always sought out.

"I think it's a step forward in my career and I hope to improve a great deal in the future."

While Cazorla has settled in at Arsenal extremely well and is one of the first names on Arsene Wenger's teamsheet, the 27-year-old is still not a regular in the Spanish national team, which boasts of the likes of Andres Iniesta, David Silva and Cesc Fabregas all battling for similar positions.

"I am happy with my role and it's a privilege to be here," he said. "Hopefully I can continue to help out as much as possible, I am working every day towards that.

"I am feeling in very good shape and I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunities I am being given."

Spain, after playing Belarus on Friday, will then take on France Tuesday at the Vicente Calderon Stadium in Madrid, and Cazorla is well aware of the threat posed by the French, with several of his Arsenal teammates in Laurent Blanc's side.

"I have several teammates from the French national team," he added. "We have to watch out for them but there are a lot more players in the top rank and it will be a tough game. We hope to get through it and push on with qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil."
