Cleveland Browns Rumors: Johnny Manziel Traded if Josh McCown Starter? Brian Hartline Doubts Terrelle Pryor as Duke Johnson Battles Isaiah Crowell, Terrance West

The Cleveland Browns are trying to build a consistent offense as position battles prepare to headline training camp. The Browns certainly have a lot of questions to answer including how their young running back rotation will develop and whether or not Terrelle Pryor is meant to be a wide receiver. While Josh McCown is prepared to enter training camp as a starter, Johnny Manziel is the biggest question of them all as he tries to fight for his future with the Cleveland Browns.

Manziel failed at keeping his name out of the papers this offseason as the quarterback admitted himself into a stint in rehab. Now healthy and back in Cleveland, the quarterback must worry about proving he can be the quarterback of the future the Browns thought they were drafting a year ago. With McCown now on the roster, Manziel is entering camp as the backup, but could that change before Week 1?

"I don't think anything's changed," head coach Mike Pettine said, via ESPN.com. "The repetitions will be handled that way with Josh as the [No. 1]. I wouldn't say I'm guaranteeing today that Josh McCown is going to be the starter against the Jets. A lot can happen in preseason."

Manziel has a lot to prove as this could be a make or break year with the Browns. The quarterback has a lot to prove in training camp and if he does not the Browns might be forced to make moves. According to ESPN, while Manziel is not at risk of getting released or traded this offseason, next year could be a very different story. The Browns gave their stamp of approval to the quarterback by not chasing Marcus Mariota or Sam Bradford, but there are no guarantees that happens twice if Manziel fails in training camp.

Pryor is another player entering camp with the spotlight on him. The quarterback turned wide receiver spent the last few weeks working out with McCown and Josh Gordon and is stressing that he will be a real threat on the field this year. However, not everyone is fully sold on his transition as Brian Hartline says Pryor is fighting an uphill battle stating (via the Cleveland Plain Dealer), "It's a tall task. I've been doing it for 10 to 20 years."

"I believe I can do this," Pryor said, via The Plain Dealer. "When I work out and when I train to do something, I don't do it just to be OK. I believe in my heart with my God-given ability that I'm going to be the best. That's not being arrogant or cocky. No one outworks me, so I believe in my heart if I put my mind to anything, I can accomplish it."

The biggest threat to Pryor could be Duke Johnson who is coming in with heavy expectations in his rookie season. Johnson is expected to be both a running back and wide receiver which could knock Pryor off the list. Johnson will be battling Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West in training camp.
