NFL Training Camp News: DeVante Parker Starts On PUP List For Miami Dolphins

First round pick/rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker had foot surgery in June and ever since then he has been unable to practice with the team. Parker spent two weeks in a walking boot after he had a screw replaced in his foot after surgery.

Now it has been announced that Parker will enter training camp on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list. The main goal of the Dolphins medical staff is to get Parker ready by opening day when the Dolphins face the Washington Redskins.

Now he can be activated at any point in the preseason so maybe this is precautionary but the hope that Parker will be ready to play by week 1 is quickly fading.

The Dolphins hope that Parker will become an elite wide receiver in this league akin to AJ Green or Dez Bryant but these injury issues to begin his career has his season outlook looking cloudy. Parker was not the only Dolphin to be put on the PUP list, safety Don Jones has been mostly a special team's star however last season he required shoulder surgery.

The 7th round pick, Jones, did not finish rehabilitating his shoulder in time for training camp.
