Group H of the World Cup Qualifiers will feature a heavily favorite England club going head-to-head with San Marino at 3:00 p.m. ET.
England will already be adjusting to life after John Terry, who recently retired from international football, but will also be without the injured Frank Lampard and the suspended Steven Gerrard.
The club said Thursday, however, that Lampard could eturn for Tuesday's Group H match in Poland, the much tougher of the two games.
Lampard, who limped off midway through the second half of Chelsea's 4-1 win over Norwich in the Premier League on Saturday, was expected to take the armband in the absence of the suspended Gerrard.
Ranked 207th in the world, and the lowest UEFA member, San Marino are certainly the weakest team in the group by far.
