NY Giants Rumors: Team Signs James Jones To 1-Year Deal, Helps Victor Cruz, OBJ Depth

The New York Giants have snagged veteran wide receiver James Jones to a one year deal with the team. Jones had offers coming in from the Eagles, Chiefs, Seahawks, and Bengals however the Giants had something none of those teams have, Ben McAdoo.

The new offensive coordinator for the Giants McAdoo was with Jones for seven years while they were members of the Green Bay Packers. Jones's last season was with the Raiders and his production suffered because of it. Jones is 31 however he was a playmaker in his younger days.

McAdoo hopes to recapture some of his older magic with Jones. Some of the offers presented to Jones could have allowed him to win another Super Bowl with the Seahawks or possibly gain a large contract with the Eagles. Jones comes to a Giants squad that might be looking for some insurance with their wide receiving core. Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham JR are both coming back from injuries that can run into the regular season.

Cruz is coming back from that nasty torn patellar tendon injury that ended his 2014 and Cruz has been bothered by his hamstring since last season as well. Jones provides Eli Manning with a nice, reliable, wide receiver if anything were to happen to Cruz or Beckham.
