Texans lead running back Arian Foster has been known to be injury prone however at 28 signs that his body is regressing are beginning to show. His soft tissue injuries are piling up and groin injuries have been a theme with Foster his entire career.
Foster has apparently suffered a significant groin injury that may need surgery to repair. Foster might be placed on injured reserve/designated to return which would be a devastating blow for the Texans.
If Foster does need surgery he will be put on the IR/DTR list and will be forced to sit out until week 10 of the regular season. This also would change fantasy drafts immensely as Foster was expected to be one of the top running backs off of the board in the first 3 rounds. Now with this looming injury it is safe to say the football world will be waiting to see if Foster can get on the field at all.
The running backs behind Foster are Alfred Blue who saw a ton of time last season, Chris Polk, and Jonathan Grimes. If Foster cannot go again look for the Texans to start Blue if they don't reach for a free agent running back.
