NFL News and Rumors: Arizona Cardinals Offer Chris Johnson Deal

Bruce Arians was not a happy man when both of his top running backs got injured. Andre Ellington and David Johnson both suffered pulled hamstrings in practice so now that leaves the Cardinals in relatively uncharted territory.

Right now the Cardinals go into their first preseason game facing the likelihood that both Johnson and Ellington will not be able to play a snap. Ellington is supposed to return to practice today however the Cardinals could hold him out of the game so he can nurse his injuries.  Arians stated

"It's disappointing that (Ellington) and (Johnson) pulled hamstrings and we may be looking. I am not pleased we are missing so much time with the top two guys and we may be looking to bring somebody in. We will search and see what is available; I am just not pleased at where we are at right now at that position."

The Cardinals ended up offering Chris Johnson a contract. Johnson is running back that was tied to the Dallas Cowboys for quite a while due to their own injury issues. Now CJ2k will likely play in preseason games and was added as more of a depth player but at only 30 years old CJ2k could have some juice left in his tank. CJ2k may wait and see if this offer sparks any others from around the league.
