New York Giants News and Rumors: Is Victor Cruz Mentally Prepared for 2015 Season After Serious Knee Injury? WR Out For Preseason Week 1

Victor Cruz's recovery has gone smoothly and the wide receiver is about to take the field for the first time in a regular season game since his torn patellar tendon injury.

Cruz suffered the injury during a big week 6 rivalry game against the Philadelphia Eagles and his season was over. Since then he has been working hard to recover even though these injuries have a way of staying with players. Cruz discussed his return briefly stating,

"As far as physically, there's no restrictions on my end...mentally, there are still certain routes that I'm still getting more comfortable with as I continue to do them within the offense. I think it's just me trusting it. The more I do it, the more confidence it builds and it's feeling pretty good. I'm kind of just making sure that pop is still there, making sure that the quickness out of the break is still there, and making sure that I can still do that cut the way I did in years past. That's more so what it is and I have so far, just a matter of getting comfortable with it and continuing to do it consistently day in and day out."

These injuries are some of the hardest to come back from even a former Dallas Cowboys player tried to offer his opinion about the injury;

 "Growing up I thought that the worst injury you could have is the ACL, nah, when you tear that patellar tendon and your kneecap shifts to your thigh, that's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy."

Cruz is 100% ready to go but easing him back into the offense is something that is going to take time.
