NBA Schedule Release: Best 2015-16 Games, Christmas Matchups With Clippers, Lakers, Thunder, Season Starts With Warriors Against Pelicans

The NBA schedule for the 2015-16 season is being released on Wednesday night, but some games have already leaked out, including the opening matchups with the New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Cavaliers and Bulls in action, while the Christmas Day games and other matchups have been revealed, including the Lakers-Sixers on New Year's Day.

The full schedule will be released on Wednesday at 6 pm ET on the NBATV channel and the slate includes some high profile games early in the season. According to Pro Basketball Talk, numerous matchups have already leaked through various reports and media outlets, including that the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls will play on Christmas.

The main Christmas schedule has gotten out, as the Cavaliers and Warriors will play in California, while the Lakers and Clippers will play with the Lakers as the host team. The Miami Heat and New Orleans Pelicans will also play on Christmas, while the Houston Rockets and Spurs are set for a matchup. The Lakers are going to play the New Year's game against the 76ers at home, while the clippers will face off against the Mavericks on November 11 in Dallas.

Marc Stein at ESPN reported on the game between Dallas and LA and that game has intrigue after what happened with DeAndre Jordan this summer. Jordan of course verbally agreed to a deal with the Mavs before changing his mind and going back to LA. That should cause some boos from the fans and could make for a very fun matchup.

Some other notable games that have leaked out from various sources:

The opening week slate of games will see the Mavericks and Suns playing to open their seasons, while the Timberwolves will visit the Lakers. That matchup has the top two picks of the draft in D'Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns matching up, while the Knicks will open on the road against the Bucks on October 28. The Hornets and Heat will play in Miami, while the Hawks and Knicks will play on October 29 for the NY home opener.
