The Dallas Cowboys love Tyler Patmon and they have ever since he was added as an undrafted free agent. Patmon has really been a monster in the 2015 offseason dominating training camp. Now it appears Patmon will have the first crack at replacing the injured Orlando Scandrick in the slot. Patmon talked about his new role briefly,
"I've always been ready to play the slot, and this year that was my role if something was to happen to Scandrick I was supposed to be ready to go. So it's something I'm definitely comfortable with. I feel like my awareness is one of my strongest qualities as a football player, and being inside at the nickel, you have to have some awareness and be able to play around all those guys in the box."
The Cowboys have never asked this much of Patmon however it seems as if he is up for the challenge or at least the Cowboys coaches believe in him. Secondary coach Jerome Henderson stated
"He's done a good job for us; like O, has those unique awareness instincts inside, that he feels the game, that he sees the game from a different perspective. Now he'll get an opportunity to go out and see how he holds up in there."
Patmon will have some big shoes to fill as Scandrick was easily the head of the Cowboy's secondary. There have however been rumors of a possible trade with the Jets involving their young cornerback Dee Miliner. The Jets have gotten their original secondary back in Antonio Cromartie and Darrelle Revis and added an extra addition in Buster Skrine; so the real question there is, will Dee Milliner make the roster? If Milliner is released then I believe the Cowboys will have to pick him up however a trade could be in the works for the underachieving cornerback. The Cowboys have worked wonders with players whom fell out of favor in the league, could they do the same with Milliner?
