The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed Yasiel Puig on the 15-day disabled list after the outfielders suffered a hamstring injury and the team has recalled Jose Peraza from Triple-A to the 25-man roster.
According to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register, the Dodgers placed Puig on the DL after he had to leave Thursday's matchup against the Reds. Puig is dealing with the issue in his right leg and it comes as he previously dealt with a hamstring injury earlier in the season. Puig is hitting .256 with 11 home runs and 38 RBIs this season and earlier in May he missed five weeks with the hamstring injury.
Peraza comes in after being traded to the Dodgers by the Braves in the three-team deal with the Marlins and he is considered a very solid prospect. Peraza is hitting .167 in major league appearances this season and he could get an extended look with Puig down for a bit. The Dodgers are currently leading the San Francisco Giants in the NL West as the schedule pushes into September.
