LeBron James and his Miami Heat have been voted by league GM's to be the prohibited favorites to win it all going into next season.
Despite major moves made by the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, the Heat are still the favorites to win their second consecutive NBA title, according to NBA.com's 11th annual GM Survey.
James also tops the list as a player to win the individual honor of becoming league MVP for the fourth time in his career.
During the off-season the Heat added new members to their roster with the acquisitions of sharp shooters Rashard Lewis and Ray Allen. With Lewis and Allen stepping on the floor the Heat will have a similar winning formula that helped secure them the championship against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Heat's style of play to attack the paint proved well as they've saw their shooting percentage from beyond the three-point line increase. With James and Dwayne Wade leading the charge to attack the paint, this will give shooters like Lewis and Allen to really contribute to the team.
Old members of the Heat team have also made some changes this offseason to help contend this upcoming season.
Heat forward Chris Bosh has made the conscious decision to take on the center position role. Bosh ,who played center for the Heat during the NBA Finals, during the off-season made the effort to bulk up to prepare for his new role.
If the Bosh move to center doesn't work well for the Heat, they still have three other players on the depth chart that can fill that center position. Joel Anthony, Dexter Pittman and Mickell Gladness will likely be sharing minutes this season with Anthony having the best chances to becoming the starter if Bosh doesn't work out during the season.
