The US Open has Serena Williams and Venus Williams ready to play each other next after winning this weekend, while Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Roger Federer were among the men to advance into the next round of the major tennis tournament in Flushing.
Williams won over Madison Keys to advance into the next round and now she is one stage closer to the grand slam final as she tries to win all four during the calendar year. Williams won 6-3, 6-3 against Keys and Williams now faces a familiar opponent in her sister. Djokovic advanced with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 Roberto Bautista Agut and it looks like Djokovic and Federer are on track to meet each other again.
Djokovic has advanced to the quarterfinals of 26 straight grand slams and he is looking to win another title this year. Rafael Nadal lost in the third round and after falling to Fabio Fognini and the focus of the tournament remains on Williams and her quest. Venus Williams won over Anett Kontaveit 6-2, 6-1 to advance into the next round and it comes as her sister has won 32 straight straight matches at grand slams.
Marin Cilic advanced over Jeremy Chardy, while Feliciano Lopez won over Fognini. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won over Benoit Paire, while Eugenie Bouchard is out after a walkover.
