The Lakers and Clippers renew their locker room rivalry as they battle for Los Angeles in preseason basketball Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET.

The Lakers will be without All-Star Kobe Bryant who is listed day-to-day with a bruised foot that might keep him sidelined until opening day.

Newly acquired center Dwight Howard is a game time decision, but if he sits it may be a strategy to avoid the big man from playing back-to-back games with a game against the Sacramento Kings scheduled for Thursday.

The Lakers, however, are expecting Jordan Hill to return to the lineup after sitting out five games with a herniated disk.

The Clippers will enter the match fresh off an impressive 88-71 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Even with veterans Chauncey Billups (heel), Lamar Odom (knee) and Grant Hill (knee) sidelined, the Clippers have a long list of talented players on their roster.

Both the Lakers and the Clippers made the playoffs last season, as they advanced out of the first round after competitive seven-game series, but both teams were knocked out of the playoffs in the second round by the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs respectively.

The Lakers are currently 0-6 in the preseason, while the Clippers are 3-3.
