NFL Regular Season Preview: Minnesota Vikings at San Francisco 49ers

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a season where they did not see the full effect of their offense. The Vikings lost Adrian Peterson to a scandal last year that kept the Vikings offense from being as dangerous as it could be.

Now that Peterson is back things have changed dramatically, defenses cannot hone in on the pass and will be stuck between going after Peterson or the Vikings wide receivers that love going after deep balls.

The 49ers on the other hand have been crumbling as we get closer and closer to opening day. The 49ers lost more people especially starters than any other team in the league.

The 49ers lost people on every level, offense, defense, special teams, and they were struggling before they lost so much talent. Now the 49ers are looking at the basement of the NFL West with the only offense who may struggle harder than they will the St. Louis Rams but that could be all over when Todd Gurley returns. The Vikings can make a statement by manhandling the 49ers and the 49ers can make one by winning.

Playmakers to watch

Adrian Peterson: Peterson makes his triumphant return and will look to once again establish himself as the best back in football.

Teddy Bridgewater: How will Bridgewater respond to having AP back on the field? AP could open up the flood gates for the Vikings offense and Bridgewater would be the prime recipient.

Jerryd Hayne: Hayne was the best player to watch in preseason, he is literally a walking highlight reel, but will that translate against starting NFL defenses? The 49ers hope so because just Carlos Hyde will not get the job done running the ball.

Colin Kaepernick: Can Kaepernick grow and begin leading this offense with his play or will he remain the same mid-level quarterback he has been up to this point? Kaepernick has not had a ton of targets so the 49ers woes may not be entirely his fault however he has not brought a spark to this offense in a long time.
