Fantasy Previews for Week 1 of the NFL Regular Season: Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams

Seattle Seahawks

Marshawn Lynch (Running Back): Lynch is another first round running back with a bad matchup this week. Lynch will struggle to break past the Rams stout defensive line and should give him problems for the majority of the game. The only way I can think of Lynch having a good game is if the Rams offense repeatedly turns over the ball which would tire out their defense. Lynch is a must start if you have him.

Tyler Lockett/Ricardo Lockette/Jermaine Kearse/Doug Baldwin (Wide Receiver): The Seahawks wide receiving pecking order has yet to be established but most of these guys are decent flex plays. Tyler Lockett and Doug Baldwin standout as the best options though.

Jimmy Graham (Tight End): Graham's role is also largely unknown but he should get some targets thrown his way. It would not be to shocking to see Graham put up 2 touchdowns since he looks to be the primary goal line threat.

Russell Wilson (Quarterback): Russell Wilson is a decent option however he is facing a brutal defensive line that has given him problems before. Wilson has a new, large goal line target in Jimmy Graham however can the newly edited Seahawks offensive line keep him from getting sacked and disrupting his timing? Probably not but they should not be too bad, Wilson is a mid-range QB2 for this matchup.

St. Louis Rams

Kenny Britt/ Tavon Austin/Brian Quick (Wide Receiver): Brian Quick is the fan favorite for fantasy owners however the Rams do have a new quarterback. Tavon Austin or Kenny Britt could be valid targets as Foles will look to air it out against this stingy Seahawks secondary. Without Kam Chancellor or Byron Maxwell they are vulnerable so it will be interesting to see how the Secondary responds. For now, the Rams wide receivers should be placed on your bench.

Jared Cook (Tight End): Bench, he has the potentially to ruin your tight end spot with inconsistent play.

Tre Mason/ Todd Gurley/ Benny Cunningham (Running Back): This is where things get interesting. Gurley is the clear cut starter however he has to wait 3-4 weeks to get an opportunity to play as the Rams are being extra careful with who they believe is their franchise running back. This leaves Tre Mason and Benny Cunningham two guys who have failed to impress anyone. Mason is injured but is the better of the two backs, unfortunately when Gurley begins to start he will be nothing more than a backup.
