Miami Dolphins Rumors: DeVante Parker Plays Week 2, Jarvis Landry Best Fantasy Football Starter, LaMichael James, Jonas Gray Released

The Miami Dolphins saw rookie DeVante Parker play just one snap on Sunday against the Redskins and head coach Joe Philbin hopes he will play more in Week 2. The Fins made some roster moves, releasing LaMichael James and Jonas Gray while signing Raheem Mostert and this comes as Jarvis Landry is the best fantasy football starter moving out of Week 1.

The Dolphins opened with a win on the road against the Redskins on Sunday and they now are 1-0 to start the season. The Dolphins offense was not as productive as the team was expecting coming into 2015, but the defense was strong and there is time to get into rhythm. Parker ended up playing in Week 1 despite having foot surgery in the offseason, but he was a non-factor in the game. Parker played one snap and was not targeted, but he is likely to get more work as he continues to come back from foot surgery.

Parker did not get the chance to make a catch in the game against the Redskins, but he has a better matchup next week against the Jaguars. According to the Miami Herald, Joe Philbin said that Parker needs time to get into a "rhythm" and that Parker needs more reps in practice to really get involved in the offense. The team expects Parker to be a major part of things this season, but for now they have depth with Landry, Kenny Stills, Greg Jennings and Rishard Matthews.

The Dolphins have Lamar Miller as the starter at running back and things continue to change behind him on the depth chart. The Dolphins released LaMichael James after he had some issues in the game on Sunday and the team also let go of Jonas Gray, who had been claimed during the preseason. The team added Mostert as a running back and kick returner after James was let go and the team also released Sam Brenner.

The Dolphins still have Damien Williams behind Miller and the team is going to get back rookie Jay Ajayi later in the season. Ajayi is on IR with designation to return after being injured in the preseason, cracking his ribs. Mostert is a solid kick returner and he previously was with the Eagles and led the NFL in total yards this preseason. James fumbled a kick on Sunday and that is why he likely was released and now Mostert has the chance to get things going.

There was a report last week before the game that James and Landry got into it in a team meeting, but that was later downplayed by Philbin. Either way, James is out and Mostert gets the chance to step in. Landry has been strong on special teams and he likely will continue to work punt returns after taking one to the house 69-yards in the game against the Redskins. The team also added Jack Stoneburner to play behind Jordan Cameron, as Dion Sims has a concussion and could be out for this week.
