NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup Schedule and Preview: Driver Lineup, Race Dates, Championship Battle Starts Sunday

The NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup is getting ready to start and the driver lineup has some big names heading into Chicagoland Speedway on the race schedule, including Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski.

The first race of the Chase is the myAFibRisk.com 400 from Chicagoland and that will be coming up this weekend for NASCAR. The lineup for the Chase is opening with 16 drivers and names like Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Jamie McMurray, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Paul Menard and Clint Bowyer are looking to win the title.

There are four rounds of the Chase and the first three are the Challenger, Contender and Eliminator stages with three races each. Drivers will be eliminated in each round and things will end at the Homestead-Miami race at the end of the Chase. the first three races are September 20, September 27 and October 4 and those will be from Chicago, New Hampshire and Dover.

The Contender round starts October 10 in Charlotte and the next two races will be from Kansas Motor Speedway and Talladega. The Eliminator round picks up in November with races from Martinsville, Texas Motor Speedway and Phoenix. The championship race is the Ford EcoBoost 400 from Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 22.

Prediction: Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch or Kevin Harvick win the Chase.
